The Butterfly and the Tornado – Minimal Input, Profound Effect

Can the Flap of a Butterfly’s Wings in Brazil Set off a Tornado in Texas?

In 1972, Edward Lorenz captured the essence of chaos theory in his talk: Predictability: Does the Flap of a Butterfly’s Wings in Brazil Set off a Tornado in Texas? The “butterfly effect” became a metaphor for understanding the behavior of chaotic systems. Lorenz challenged the notion that linear processes can be used to determine the outcome of complex, open systems, i.e., to predict weather patterns. The butterfly effect reflects the comprehension of sensitive dependence on initial conditions, where a small change in one state of a nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.  In essence, the fluttering of a butterfly’s wings today in Brazil could initiate a series of changes resulting in the later formation of a tornado in another part of the globe. Whether the wings produce a mild breeze, or a violent tornado is dependent upon and very sensitive to the initial conditions of the system.

As living beings, we are open, non-deterministic systems thus a certain amount of unpredictability or chaos is ever present.  Reactions and responses are dependent upon our system’s sensitivity to initial conditions. As with weather, a minimal stimulus introduced to the body can produce dramatic changes.  This is the basis for the curative power of nanomolecular doses of homeopathic medicine.

The key is the sensitivity of the initial conditions. Understanding the initial conditions of a system is of vital importance in the practice of medicine and the healing arts. Hence, the reason for bloodwork or x-rays by the medical doctor, or the use of Electro Dermal Analysis by the homeopath. My clients are familiar with the “camel and stick” analogy.  If the bags on the camels back are only half full, the camel will probably take no notice when adding another stick to the bag. However, when the camel is overloaded, add one more tiny stick and down he goes.  If you are dealing with overload, adrenal burnout, anxiety or insomnia, the body is in no position to process handfuls of supplements, regardless of their quality. Neither will it handle the input of extended doses of electromagnetic frequency therapy.

When we find ourselves wandering through life with our camel bags on overload, we may be deluded into thinking heroic interventions are required. Yet, even open systems that appear chaotic do operate under complex feedback mechanisms, such as repetitive cycles, attractors, and fractals, in attempts to reach a sort of homeostasis. Thus, the extreme sensitivity and extraordinarily complex conditions of the human body permits the system to be affected by very minor changes.  Major changes can introduce an overwhelm of energy, inducing extreme counterreactions, which further chaos and movement away from attempts to reach homeostasis.

I will give two examples to illustrate the point of minor input producing profound effect: one with nanomolecular medicine (homeopathy), the other with a small dose of frequency therapy.

  •   “Since her mother’s death, Kelly has been struggling with insomnia, night-terrors, grief, and crippling anxiety.  She did not want to leave the house, visit with friends, sometimes she would not even leave her bedroom.  It was a monumental effort to get her to the doctor. Pharmaceuticals made her feel even worse. I wanted you to know howmuch better she is doing since working with you. She still is taking the homeopathic pellets you recommended because she feels they really help. We can't believe how much she's grown as far as getting herself out of anxiety before it starts. She's learning how to keep from it getting bad by using the techniques you taught her and even learning some of her own. We are so thankful for all you do for her”.

  •  “I am thrilled to report my progress since my initial Qube session (EESystems). For the past 2 years I have struggled terribly with sleep, often only sleeping an hour at a time for weeks.  I felt like a walking zombie.  I was excited to try the Qube as I intuitively knew it could help.  Knowing how sensitive my body is to any form of supplements, remedies, or therapies, I knew I would have to go slowly. I've learned to respect that input. My body was telling me initially I could only handle a 4-unit system for about an hour . Since that initial session, I have been sleeping for 6 hours at a time and last night I slept a full 8 hours!  I have since cut my sleep medicines in half and continue to wean off them.  I am excited to see what my second session brings”.

The flapping butterfly wings indeed can initiate profound effects.
